Hi Heather, baby Sam is stunning. You did a great job on her and I can see how you improved from your very first doll. Well done!
There is a tutorial on the Secrist site, how to style the mohair and to get rid of the frissy look. When you pose your doll for a photos put her in a natural way so she can look comfortable and you will see it adds to the realism of the baby. for exc lay her down on a comfy blanket and snugg her in. Again congrats.
thanks that means alot it made my day. and by the way her head isnt attach, her hair isnt down yet that how she is sitting in my spair room waitting on darker hair.

Heather, I think she is wonderful!! Great work. I can't wait to see her finished. I am still puttering along on my baby. All is going well so far. Hope to post pics soon too. Congrats on such a great baby!
Great job! Blond hair is so hard to do because it doesn't show up as well unless you use LOTS of hair. I just finished my blond baby and the rooting took weeks! I love your Sam. She looks so sweet! Hugs, Melinda
Now that I think about it, I think Melinda is right. It seems harder and seems to take longer to root with blonde mohair.
Prior to rooting I sometimes use the tiniest paint brush to create some faint strands of hair on the scalps of blond baby dolls--especially around the hair whorl, and temple where the very fine and sparse strands are prominent.
Heather, I agree.. you've come a long way and really improved! Looks like you are having way too much fun dressing her. LOL. Seriously, I think that outfit is precious.

thanks soooo much for all the complaments. blond is hard to root im waiting on a darker coler blond to high light the head hopfuly it will show up better.
Heather, have you ever tried dying your own mohair? I buy angora mohair from a person who raises the goats. The hair is initially washed, but I have to comb and wash again and dye. I use human hair dye and have had some great results. I imagine, but am not sure (someone with more experience could tell), that you could also dye english mohair or any other mohair. Good luck on your baby! I just love blonde hair on babies! Hugs, Melinda
