Doll furniture for those who asked!

Okay, to those who asked, here are a few pics of some of the furniture I've made.  The dining room set was a commissioned set, and after posting pics on another doll forum, someone in France has expressed interest in a commission set.  I'm so excited!  I just hope I do as well with my reborns!  Thanks for asking for the pics!  Hope you like them.  Hugs, Melinda

Oh wow, thay are gorgeous! Are they doll house sized? Have you ever made any big doll sized pieces? You are so clever, if I tried messing with wood I would probably cut my hand off lol!

Thanks so much! Most of the furniture I make is for fashion dolls 11-1/2 to 16 inches tall, although I've done some smaller (for 8 inch) and some bigger (for 22 inch). I like being flexible about sizes because I get to do different styles. Hugs, Melinda

Thanks for the photos Melinda, WOW..!!!! it's art pieces. Well done! You are one handy lady, It is so professionally done, Where do you get the time do do all of this, How long does it take to make them ... and still find the time to do reboning. Do you belong to a wood crafter organisation? What do you call your trade is wood crafting or carpentry work. Congrats your work are stunnung.

Thanks Ronel! It usually takes about 2 weeks to complete a set since I only work on furniture stuff a couple of hours a night, although I do work all day most Saturdays. There's a lot of "set" time involved, so during that time I spend with my reborns. It's a juggling thing. I don't belong to any woodworking organizations. I am self-taught on everything, and at the beginning (2 years ago), it was a HUGE learning curve! Just the like working with reborns now! But I'm still learning new wood and design techniques. I just added upholstered furniture to my line this year, as I had to learn that too. I know my babies will get better as I go, just as my furniture did. I hooked on both! Hugs, Melinda

Melinda we have to watch out for you, you are going to kick ass. You are very handy and how you learn the trade all by yourself, is just amazing. Yes you will improve with each doll and it is nice to see how you develop your own style. Now what else can you do? I suppose you can cook, bake, knit, crochet, do needlework, gardening  etc etc. (LOL) Enjoy your labour of love!

Ronel are you kidding?!?! Between my full time day job and my hobby jobs, haven't got time for anything else. Just ask my hubby. Poor guy, he ends up cooking lots of the meals lately, and when I cook, it's usually something frozen, LOL! Thanks for your very nice comments! Hugs, Melinda

Well I think your furniture is amazing, and I love that you make it on quite a large scale too. Are you in the U.K? When I have made some more pennies i might be after you to make me something!

Hi Abby! I'm in the US, but I can ship overseas. I live in New Mexico (beautiful place). I sure love getting to know people from across the pond on this forum! Hugs, Melinda

Oh my... Melinda, your work looks amazing!  I'm with Abby... I would probably saw an arm or two off if I tried messing around with woodworking tools.  Anyone can cook (well.... maybe not?), but I bet your hubby is happy to do it so you can pursue your art.

If you can create the furniture and teach yourself the skills required, the sky is the limit for you.

We have such talented members in this forum!

Hi Linda! I do have a wonderful hubby, but sometimes he thinks I'm OCD! In addition to his day job, he's a very gifted musician, so he understands my creative side. He just has problems with my messy side, LOL! Hugs, Melinda
