Sorry I have MIA for so long, have Sam with 2 fractured wrists and found out he has Osteoporisis. He had his spinal surgery on the 4th and the outcome is excellent. His Specialest said if he hadn't had it done he would have been in a wheel chair soon as it would have cut the spinal nerve. For all of you wishing him well, THANK YOU. Hope to be on line a bit more. Am still unpacking and trying to find places to fit everything. XXXXXX June. disbelief.gif

Glad you're back June. Also glad to hear that things with Sam's back surgery went better than expected! An "excellent" report is always welcome! Hope his wrists mend quickly too, considering.

My neighbor lady across the street is 71 and she got run over by her daughters Great Dane puppy (and the older one). To make a long story short, they spun her around, she hit her ankle on the concrete step, fell and shattered her ankle. The did surgery and she got 16 screws, 1 large nut and bolt, plus a metal plate on each side of her ankle. She has been almost 3 months in casts and they said at least another month or so before she can put any weight on it. She has osteoporosis too. It's coming along slow but it does delay things. She's getting very frustrated. Tell Sam (and you too) to try to take it easy and not get frustrated. I'm sure it's harder for him than my neighbor because it's both his wrists!

My surgery for carpal tunnel is coming along nicely. I just gotta remember not to push/pull or lean on it for several more weeks! Plus I have what they call pillar pain from where they cut the ligament. So even in pain, I gotta massage it twice a day. They said that pain should go away soon.
Glad you guys are back.

Thank you all, yes, this getting older is no fun. Don't you wish sometimes you could turn back the clock. I am so slow at unpacking as I don't know where to put everything. The house we have moved into is on a Business Commercial Block, our daughter has done all the hard work getting the inside done, we still have to Paint and build the rails on the outside, but that will have to wait untill Sam can use his hands and back are mended. Our intentions of having it as a display home for the Porcelain and Reborns, also to show people what goes into making Porcelain Dolls, from pouring the molds to the cleaning, painting ,body building, dressing also with the reborns as well and how they are all hand done, and rooted. The hours it takes. I think I will charge $5.00 for a look and a Coffee and Picklets. What do you think. At least it is letting people know they don't come from china, painted with decals, and no toe nails or finger nails painted like we all do.Happy Baby making. XXXXXX June.

I would love to be there, too, and would be happy to pay for a look around with picklettes and coffee. Maybe I could come with Pat and be her other hand? By the way, might I ask what a "picklette" is?

Piklets are made with 2 cups, self raising flour, milk, 2 eggs annd sugar, just keep adding milk and don't make it too runny, only I have a secret ingredient and everyone asked me what it is and how I make them so fluffy. You eat them with Strawberry Jam and whipped cream, or you can have Golden Syrup or Maple Sryup and Icecream. I can also make them in a waffle iron. Am I making your mouth water. I'm not so good at scones, but maybe I might give them a try. I know they wont turn out like my Mums though, probably rock cakes. LOL XXXXXXXX JUNE PS If I win the Lotto, I will bring you all over. But dont hold your breath, seems they all come up $0.00.

I do to, we desperatly need to have a win at something. I am trying to declutter, but not getting very far, I think age is against me and I want to leave things behind so people can remember me. LOL XXXXX June.

I think I know how you feel when you say you need to win at something.  And have you noticed how there are some people who just seem to be lucky and win all the time?  I sure wish I knew the secret so I could share it with you.

Somehow I think people will remember you with love and affection even if you don't get around to leaving things for them.  I just hope you are not like me and forget where you put the things you wanted to leave behind.

Some of us have a harder time de-cluttering than others, and age-related infirmities are sometimes useful to prompt the aid of our children.  I

I blame the inability to get organized on the artist in me.  I can think of a practical and/or creative use for just about every item that would be classified as clutter by someone else (And that's an entire garage full of stuff in addition to the other hiding places in the house!)

If we were less creative and flexible people, wouldn't it be so much easier to quickly classify items as "keep" or "junk"?  It would be a piece of cake to determine the perfect place to store an item that could have multiple uses, right?

Anyway.. those are my excuses for having clutter that is a  out of control.

Hugs,

June, you are way too wonderful to ever by forgotten! Those who have you in their lives are very lucky people indeed! The legacy you leave behind will be far more than dolls, believe me! As far as decluttering goes, I'm with Linda! I am sooo glad to hear there is a logical reason for my chaos! It's the artist in me!!! I'm gonna show this post to hubby. I have a shop for building my furniture and sewing bedding, and it is always a mess! I also have a room dedicated to all my dolls (ditto on the mess) and now I have taken over the dining table in the den for my reborns (did I say mess?), and am putting my completed reborns in the guest room! Thanks Linda! I feel so much better now! Hugs, Melinda

I'd be happy to post some pics. Mostly I build for fashion dolls, and just completed a commission for a dining room for 16" Sybriates. I have however, just finished building and assembling a crib for babies up to 18". I don't have the finish on it yet, but I'll post pics of that when I do. I loved creating the crib. In some ways, it was much easier than the smaller stuff. Except when I got the finishing, LOL! I just couldn't bring myself to painting it, so I've stained it dark mahogany, which wasn't so bad, but putting on the laquer is going to be a trip with all those crib slats, LOL! Anyway, thanks so much for asking! I'll post some pics later today. Hugs, Melinda

You are like me, I love working with my hand, I am more in the garage then in the house, I always fiddle with my husband's stuff (I wanted to say tools, but sounds really bad) Thanks for your reply and I can't wait to see your masterpieces.

You are all so funny (and wonderful!!!!!!). I have "junk" as hubby calls it, and he has his so we each leave eachothers alone and just make comments about it. hehehe

And here I thought I was so clutterish because I only have 2 braincells! Well, now I know it's because I'm an artist! lol
