I've been away for quite awhile. Actually I used to belong to this forum under Hushabye Mountain Nursery, but found that someone on ePay in the UK has been using an almost identical nursery name, so I changed it to Imitations of Life. Now, here I am once again.
My newest toddler is Celeste. She's 28", and I special ordered 13" long mohair, and microrooted from the very tip ends to achieve her long locks. I also hand rooted her upper & lower eyelashes (that's how I do all my open-eyed girls now). She was way fun to create, and even more fun to do photo shoots of her.

Hello Jeni, Your little girl looks lovely. Where do you get 13inch long mohair? You have posed her in very little girl like poses, she's lovely. XXXXXX June
Hi June & thanks so much! I this mohair from Sue Nagel on ebay, but her prices skyrocketed (I saw a half oz. go for $200.00 one time), but it's hard for her to special order anymore because she sells so much! I just recently found two listings for full ounces of white undyed mohair that I purchased and dyed myself (it ain't easy!) and it came out pretty good. If you want the ebay id, you can pm me and I'll look up the seller.
Wow, thank you Romel! I plan to list her on evilbay next Friday...wish me luck! I put so much work into her, but I'll start her out at just enough to cover my costs and hope for the best!
She is gorgeous! How long did that rooting take you? It turned out great. And which magazine is that that she was in? Very gorgeous little girl!

Hi Andrea! Thanks for the compliment. Her hair took about 20 hours (about 4 hours a day), but I loved doing it. I think it's one of my favorite parts of reborning! The magazines are not real...I created them. First it was just for my husband because he got so attached to Celeste (he threatened to sue me for custody of her LOL!), but it was fun, so I made "mock-ups" of a few more. They are just made up & not real!

Kindest regards,
Oh, okay. She would deserve to be on a cover of a magazine, though. :) Rooting is my favorite part of reborning too. She is such a sweetie!

Thank you Tina & Dee! I really appreciae your comments! Ya know, I really only started rooting the lashes because I was SOOO bad at ataching the false lashes...honest! I just could never get them to where hey didn' look bad, and ended up ruining several pair of eyes wih he glue. I seem to be able o get far more precise with the German needles. Weird huh?
Anyway, thank you again! I did have two favorite pictures that didn't upload...here they are...

Wow, Jeni! She's beautiful! I, too, have problems with gluing eyelashes, but I don't think I would do a very good job of rooting them on open eyed babies. Might give it a try tho since yours look so good. I love her hair, too! Definitely an inspiration. Good luck on evilbay. Melinda
Hey, thank you Melinda! You should give it a try (rooting the lashes)! It just takes some practice! Since I do it whithout the eyes in place, I don't ruin any more eyes!
Simply an amazing job on the face/head! And I am also blown away with the job on the lashes!!!! OMG! I have never seen them done have as well.
Maybe I'll give the German needles one more try! Hmmmm
Wow! Thank you Pat! You're so talented (I've seen your work), you should definitely give the needles another try! I think the key to using the German Forks, is only in knowing which way the darn grove is pointed...a knack that took me awhile to get my brain around...but now, I could never go back to the barbed needles! ANYONE WANT TO BUY A BUNCHA BARBY NEEDLES (heeheehee)!
