How to bake a berenguer doll

I didn't think there was a difference. Your baking according to the GHS paint directions not the vinyl. I've bakes all types of babies using the same temp and time without any problems. Although I haven't done a Berenguer baby yet I can't imagine it being any different. Only think I can think of is the temp is too hot.

Hi Tina

I double checked the temperature and it is 100%. After I took the bereguer out of the oven, I've put the secrist dolls in and they are all perfectly baked. I don;t know whats "cooking". Any other suggestions. I am scared to put the doll back in the oven, I don't want to ruin it.

This is my first Berenguer and I am not sure if it is safe to use GHSP on the doll,

I,ve them them with no problem, also done Citytoy dolls, First I did them with Inks and then started using GHSP and no prolem there either, I think if they turn out a bit shiny, at the last bake , then you could use a thin layer of matt varnish. Hope this helps. XXXX June.

Everyone is right hun. You are baking according to the Genesis paints temp and time. You have to do this or they won't be properly cured. If I were you I would bake with the windows open or bake in a countertop oven outside. Those dolls have toxic fume issues. But I say bake at your own risk.

Anyway like June said, just use some of the matte varnish on them as the very last step. And make sure you do not use any thinner with it and stir in the container first. Pounce a very thin coat on and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Thanks for the info Pat, Why are the Berenguer dolls so shiny or oily when baked. I am confused is it because of diffrent vinyl?

It could be, but I'm not really sure. Some of the ones that were made in China (I think, don't quote me lol) had some issues. But the pre-painted Berenguers were not originally made to be "baked" so I'm sure that is an issue all it's own. I do like that they came out with blank kits and I think the vinyl is very different from the 'toy dolls".

I know a lot of people get the shiny's with the B's and they just use the matte as the last step. I haven't heard of any "oily" B's, just shiny.
