Well, all I have to do is matte varnish her to get rid of the shiny spots and that's it so I thought I'd post since I have to wait on that in the mail. She is my second, my first was Taffy from the mini kits and she didn't turn out so well. I am proud of this one since I am very new to this. Feedback would be nice, but please.... I cry easy She is 19in long and weighs 5 lbs even. Her head is weighted too for the floppy neck babies have, she doesn't have hair yet but maybe someday. She does have tiny eyelashes but no eyebrows (paint in the mail too) but will by the end of the week.
What a cute kit. Great work for your second. I also am about to put together my second. Where did you get the kit? Did you root the hair? I really enjoyed doing the hair.
I love the babies with expression on their little face, my daughter was forever with her mouth open and fists in it so I loved this one. Sadly she's not a Secrist baby but a BB baby. No hair yet, but has eyelashes. I want to practice rooting on my daughter's dolls first before attempting it on this one or my next one which is Gumdrop from Secrist. But one day she will have hair.
I think she's adorable as well. The only thing I might think about on the next one is shading her nose a bit more but aside from that she a keeper! Congrats!
You can also get Secrist test limbs to root and practice painting on. They're really innexpensive and that way you'll have the actual feel of working on Secrist vinyl.
