A while ago I posted about the cryer doll I was doing by Donna Rubert. Somebody on this forum asked me about kits she had sculpted saying that she was their favourite in the porcelain circle and was interested in her vinyl kits. I can't remember who it was who asked and I have tried to find the topic but I can't so I thought I would just post on here quickly and hope that whoever it was gets to see it. Maybe that person already knows but Donna Rubert has started sculpting for BB and has a new baby doll kit coming out soon called Sugar. She is a sleeping baby and she is beautiful. She has a chubby little face and the most gorgeous little chubby limbs. Like I said I don't know if whoever asked about Donna Ruberts kits will see this but I thought that I would just pop this information on here and hope it will be of some help to whoever it was. There are pictures of the prototype on the BB website now if you want to take a look.
That would probably be me, I love her work in piorcelain and it would be nice to see her vynal. Can you give me a link to her site as I am in Australia, and not up with all the maker yet. June M.
The new "Sugar" kit by Donna Rubert isn't on her site it is on the BB site, She is lovely and another MUST HAVE kit for me, LOL. go to www. (sorry, link removed) and she is on the home page, just click on the picture of her and it takes you to her details.
I think there is another Donna Rubert kit coming out at BB soon. I can't remember the name of the kit but I believe it is an open eyed baby.
Thats ok. I can help with removing and moving stuff. But I appreciate your help :)
We just have a few rules and even though I also would like to be able to post such things this forum is a little different than the many others I belong to. Kinda takes some getting used to I think :)
And I want one of her new babies too! I just LOVE the full chubby legs! Not exactly newborn legs but they are good! I have done Donna and Kelly's porcelains but now I am looking forward to her vinyls. Hope they're nice quality!
Hey June! Have you given any thoughts to trying motteling on a porcelain? I'm going to do a test limb (if I can find someone to do porcelain firing in my area) and see how it comes out. I know it's really away from the norm but I just want to see if it CAN be done and how it looks. We always think of porcelains in the "peaches n cream" complexions I know, but it's a change eh?
No I haven't as yet but the house is almost ready to move into and I will be able to do some porcelain again. Will try on Dianne efftner babies and see how it goes. I have the molds for a few of her babies and they have full arms and legs. I have 3 kilns, one small one for fast fire when I paint, one is slower as it is for the larger limbs, and the another bigger than that I just use for firing greenware. Haven't touched them for about 3 years, so I hope it all comes back quick, as I have 3 Ladies in Feb, all going well. XXXX June
Have the reporter from the paper coming here on Sat, to do a story on reborning. So my aim is to let them know that as per Dr. Phils Show, we do not replace our babies with reborns, that they are a form of art and we are learning new things every day. Like artist paint on canvas, we paint on vynal. As I have have already lost a child, how could vynal or porcelain replace his little human life. This hobby is a collecters item just as matchbox cars and model planes and trains are for men. We don't make it a businss as we could never get paid for the amount of time and patience that is involved in it. Does that sound as thugh I am putting it accross the right way. Not to mention, that it is a stress relief and sometimes keeps us sane. XXXX June. Ps What about the millions our Government has spent on modern art to adorn the walls of Parliment?
WAHOOOOO!!! GO JUNE!!! You tell them girl! I think it's great to put it that way. I didn't mind the stuff on Dr Phil as he did say in the end it's just a hobby unless it takes over your life. What I didn't care for is the one the BBC did on Fake Babies, and also the one that aired a few weeks ago in the USA where they kept going after that poor woman who got mad if no one noticed her reborn when she took it out in public and acted like it WAS a real baby. They just kept hitting that point and basically said the woman was out of her mind. And then again we become the bad guys!
But you go get em June and tell them the way it really is with us reborners! And congratulations on the TV spot!
I am waiting to get an e-mail from BB for the new Donna Rubert "Honey"! She's not in yet and I really want her!!! I can't wait. I'm getting her in the new "peach" color, not the worm pink so then I don't have to do any color correction at all.
I also got 5 of Danielle Zweers new Isabeau kits today from her in the Netherlands. She is just awesome! I'll post some pics when I get her done (in the artist showcase)! I also just got Secrist new Sweety Pie today. How precious!
I have finished my Isabeau kit now and she is all put together. She is so cute! I have to get her some eyelashes yet but apart from that she's all done. when I have the eyelashes on I will post a few pics in the showcase.
AWESOME!!! I can't wait to see someone elses rendition of her. I think Danielle's sculpting is amazing, such details!
When I said I got 5 of those kits I meant that I am a dealer now, not that I was going to do 5 kits, so if anyone wants one I do have them avail. I have #1/250 but that one is mine. I also have 2 in the 60's and 2 in the 70's of the limited edition of 250. :) I will be doing one as a light-skinned bi-racial baby. Maybe a little boy!
I just wanted to let you all know that Donna Rubert's Babies, Sugar and Honey, are now available! They are meant to be twins, and they're just the CUTEST little things!!!!! I think I'll have to buy at least one of each.

My Honey is on the way! I should have her some time toward the end of the week! WooHooo!!! I love both of them but my fav is Honey (cause I can only afford one). It would be fun to see how everyone elses looks in the showcase :)
And if the link doesn't happen to work, here is her auction number: 270348222241
Now this baby (IMHO) is want a well done baby should look like, and the pictures are very clear and crisp. This is what should bring the big bucks. Although I do think she should have had some really good close-ups of the rooting, she has done a good job here. What do you think?
You are right. This is the most beautifull baby I've ever seen. Sooooooo realistic and adoreable. Now that Danielle is a piece of art...... (a Van Gogh, a Rembrandt, DaVinci) I struggle to get the right words to describe that baby... magnificant!!!
I think "magnificant" covers it very well! ;) I might post a few more in the artist showcase so others can see different techniques and styles. It's always nice to see extremely well done bubs! It inspires me!
