Can I repaint a finished baby?

I would pop the eyes out but the hair, as long as it is mohair,
can be put in the oven, as it can be permed,
coloured and blow dried the same as human hair.

June is right! The hair can usually go in the oven (you might want to wet it first or use some conditioner on it first).
If you know what eyes are in you can put her in the oven with them left in. If they are Secrist Real Eyes or glass eyes you don't have to take the out. They wil withstand the heat.
Only other problem I see is the glue that holds the hair in and the eyes. If it's tacky glue it will probably be ok but if it's anything else, especially the E6000 then I personally wouldn't chance it. We don't know what kind of molecular change the glue would go through. The vinyl would be ok but it might do somethiing where the glue meets the vinyl. KNIM?

You could always use a heat gun instead. But that you have to really keep away from the mohair (someone said it fries it!) and keep it away from the eyes.
If you have synthetic eyelashes on the doll, they must come off before doing any heating of any kind. They will shrivle and melt.

I checked with BB and they said the eyes would be fine as long as I don't go over the 8 min 265 degtee table. This ones has fake lashes so I will remove them. I used tacky glue and liquid nails inside the head. My husband s a carpenter and said that the liquid nails would be fine so I guess I just need to find out about the tacky glue.

I won't be redoing the baby someone bought her yesterday and wanted her just as she is. I guess it was more me than the baby. She just seemed a little too even toned to me. I'm glad they saw her first.

She was my daughters favorite but she isn't a real baby person so that might explain it. I sure hope that changes in the next feww years,

thats the grammie in me speaking, she's 17 and has had her boyfriend for 2 yrs. and they are just starting to talk future but she says babies aren't in it. ashamed

I know theres plenty of time but she's pretty stubborn. Oh well I have 10 grandchildren (not bad for 51 and my kids waited till they were 21 and older to start) and a 15 and 13 year old sons to lean on if she don't change her mind. Just can't get enough of them. biggrin

But that is the yours mine and ours kind of family we have but they have all been mine since they were under 2 so it's been easy to have the same feelings for them all.
I have been blessed.

I was always under the impression that you would have to remove the previous paint and then start again. One baby that I did with B.T. paint, turned really dark and then got shiney. WEll, I found out that it was because I applied too many coats of paint. When you paint with BT you can't really see any progress at all, plus I wasn't using a Daylight lamp. When I would read on Ebay about how people described how they got the beautiful skin on the doll was by applying many, many layers of GPaints until the desired skin tone was achieved. Well to me layers and layers meant maybe about 10 or more..like the more the better!!! I ended up ruining one of my kits. It was a B. baby and it was a DC'd doll. I really don't like the B babies. They don't look realistic to me. Like the big fat thighs and then the foot is about a country inch. So..I found out over painting can cause darkening of the skin to. I tried to get the BT's off and I tell you...they don't want to come off and I ended up using the big gun
(GO) to get it off LOLOL this is fun writing with initials...

I did it after Buffington said I could and I was using heat set paint. It worked just great. I didn't remove any paint first. I put colesterol in the hair so it wouldn't fry and rinsed it out after. I only put it in for the 8 mins. that is suggested and it faired well.
