Here are some pics of my first fairy baby that I just completed using the Secrist Lollipop sculpt (I just love the face). I'm not a great photographer, so you can't really tell that she is rooted with pinkish purple hair. It's my first attempt at fairy ears, so they are not quite perfect. I haven't been able to find fairy outfit, so she's dressed in a preemie sleeper that my grandaughter wore. If anyone knows where I can purchase a cute fairy outfit that would fit a 17 inch Secrist, please let me know!
Julie, as I live in a fantasy world of Fairies and elves, there isnt much sewing to make a fairy costume, You can make a skirt out of tuile, soft lining fabric and ribbon use the top of an all in one under the skirt and Glue flowers and ribbon and bows into a flowing fairy costume. I will look in artist show case and see if I can find some of my porcelain ones for an idea. XXX June
I'm not sure where you are (USA or another country) but if you are in the USA they have some adorable little fairie costumes at Michael's craft store (they're actually for the jointed bears but look really cute on the preemies). :)
Here's my newest fairy baby. I'm still stuck on the Lollipop sculpt - she has such a sweet face. I practiced my ears on the kitchen table until I got a good one. I also switched rooting needles and got a better result ( I was using a one-barb needle and switched to a 3 barb needle - what a difference).
