I just finished my first reborn doll, Brenna Grace (named for my two granddaughters!). She is a Berenguer Angel Face sculpt. I had to give her a Monique wig because I am having a terrible time rooting. I bought some premium mohair which I am trying to root on another doll and it's not going well. It looks like a bunch of fuzz. I have bought (but not received) Jeannine Holper's book on rooting and I'm hoping that will help!
Please let me know what you think and if you think she is sellable. I really think she looks better in person...my camera doesn't take the best pictures. She doesn't look as shiny in person.
I think you did a good job, especially it being your first one. I wish you well on selling her. I have tried to sell on ebay and haven't been sucessful. I have an ad on there now, hope mine sells. Janie
Eileen and Janie, I just sold my second baby on ebay, the first was Summer Rose ( Zoe ) and a Berenguar I named Rubyn james. I put $175 on Zoe and on Rubyn, plus $30 Aust for postage and handling as the nearest post office is about 20 km's away. At least then you cover costs, I wish you both luck. I think your baby is sweet also.
There are many people who wig their babies because of rooting issues, it's normal. You just need practice. If you want her hair to look less like a wig you can always get some thinning shears and thin the wig very carefully. This shouldn't be a problem as the Monique wigs are very high quality.
I think she look ok for your first baby. I will tell you something though... if you don't have good pics for ebay, it WILL cause issues for bidders. They want crisp clear pics so they can see exactly what they are bidding on. Just a hint for you :)
