June the person hosting the auction can only see how many people are "watching" him so no it doesn't display to the public if an item has watches or not.

i "clicked" to watch him which means my own ebay account has a section of items i've decided to watch and will automatically tell me what the bids on the item are doing without me having to go look at the actual listing. B/c i'm always selling and therefore always logged into my own ebay account i can keep a close eye on how leah is going with the bids on michael.

Michael is incredible! He looks particularly beautiful in his blue sweater set. I, too, am "watching" your auction and hoping that the bids start flying!

crickey it makes a heck of a difference when you block 0feedback bidders from bidding on your auctions i have usualy had a couple of bids by now and yep they are usualy 0 feedback bidders ive had a couple emailing asking to bid but i have made the auction so that they must be phone varified by ebay to bid, it really surprises me how many cant be botherd getting verified some can be quite abusive to you aswell! still i definetly think its worth having your auctions like this it stops alot of non paying bidders, just thought id share for those who may have had problems with them :)

thanks to your advice my auctions in general are getting so much better with **those** bidders blocked...
i am getting good bidders with good rep for a change lolol...

well i am going to list my little one when i have finished her hair!!!
i spent another two full days on top of hours here n there, i think all up around 80 hrs on hair and still going but am doing it finer than i have ever before... its taking me forever... + now i have rooting cramp!

i guess we all know what i am talking about heehe....
these reborns are hard work and when i was just a collector, i didn't even think about the time involved / or what went into them!!!

no offence taken hun ((hugs))) i was going to put him on ebay .com i wish i had of now at least i couldve had a reserve for him there i have had this happen and in the last two days they sky rocket i just hope that is the case here, im still scratching my head at the moment i cant work out why he doesnt have a bid but its an experience all the same hehe always learning with ebay AU it can be so fickle!

I've been wondering about trying listing on ebay.com mayself... I'm nervous about doing so though b/c what if it sells worse.... but there is the reserve price thingy which could be useful.

Don't forget to list on Etsy as well! Low prices for listings and a few more reborners are starting to list there because Ebay is messing around.

Only prob is that Etsy is a BIN site, not an Auction site, so you'd have to set a price... Though it could be a good avenue for dolls that don't sell at Ebay

its a pitty etsy isnt auction or id be there hehe Naomi alot aussie reborners sell on either .com or for the bigger money they go to UK the postage is high in UK though its the reserve price i like i wish they had that on AU we definetly need it :( i am so close to pulling michaels auction if he sold for 149 id be devistated :(

Leah, you could always list on etsy AND ebay, if you are doing BIN on both of them you can always pull one or the other listings if it sells. It only costs me 50cents or something to list my stuff on etsy...

There is also MadeIt (I think...) which is an Aussie version of etsy.

Then there is magnolia lane, which could probably do with some boosting 'cause no one knows about it yet - they really need to do some marketing)

i looked at OzAuction once, i've not looked at etsy - but the main market seems to be ebay... everyone knows of ebay. OzAuction has some reborns on there but they weren't selling very well i didn't see a single one over $200 when i looked.

I know how you feel, yes you have to put a reserve price on him so you are not giving him away. It's better than spending $450 on tables at shows and not making enought to cover costs. I still think up the price a bit to give them a bit more incentive. He is abeautifull little baby.(((Hugs ))) They only other thing is you are getting them out there for people to see. weirdface

you said it all Naomi the main market is ebay and unfortunetly anywhere else you dont get the buyers in at the moment, june in ebay AU if you start high you dont get bids hun its a fickle place to sell in if he doesnt have a bid by tommorow im going to pull him out ive worked too hard on him to let him go for nothing i think alot of the problem might be that i dont list often enough i list every 5 to 10 weeks maybe i should disapear for a while from ebay make a heap of babies then sell each week and try my best to keep up with them all, think im just having a downer day! hehehe

I have had the same thoughts too. I noticed that those who sell regulary get more bidders. They are keeping there name out there. Dont ppl realise that the creation of these little guys is a timely process? Wouldnt one think that if someone is able to put out a baby or two a week that possibly not so much time and effort has been put into one where the artist works one dolly at a time?

Sometimes I think that buyers are like all other buyers out there in the world..They dont look at the quality they buy for the brand name.. Eg: a billabong shirts sells for $60 where you can buy the same quality or even better for $20 in Target. But because it has the brand name written on it, they are willing to fork the $$$..

And then they all turn into Lemmings..One buyer has to have what the other has..Becomes fashionable.

Am I making sense, or should I explain myself better?

yes i know how you feel, and i do think that only being able to list every month or so you do lose the pull of popularity.

that said my little boy bradley only has a day left now and is only at $183 I'm been surprised in the past with last minute bidding so i can only hope, but oh i'll feel dissappointed letting him go at that. figuers crossed for both of us.

your making sense hun :) Naomi can do a bub every few days she doesnt miss any detail its just that she has time she has all day to reborn and spends many hours doing it there are a few reborners out there like that, but i have kids and i just cant do that :( i wish i could produce faster i am really considering just making lots and lots and sell at a later time I have built up a small reputation over the last couple years my worry is if i totaly dissapear i will have to rebuild that reputation all over again its like a catch 22 isnt it!

i do know what your saying Kat, and i see some babies out there that look pretty but really dont have alot of the fine detail. But then if your like me i find myself posting more and more on here as a way to slow down my production.

you see i have no life... no reall..... i spend all day every day working on my babies. anywhere from 12-16 solid hours a day. I could make 4 or 5 in a week... but i think if i put this many out that people will think i don't put the time into them, so i'm trying to work slower. Taking breaks to come post here, having a hot bath in the evening to stop me working, reading a book before bed instead of working till 11pm... i've even bought a book of sudoku puzzles and stuff to do while "watching" TV b/c i find i can't just sit a nd watch - i have to be doing something else at the same time and usually that would be working on a baby....

i am thinking though, that maybe if i listed 2 on ebay.com and 2 on ebay(aust) each week i might be able to build up a larger international following also. It might be worth a shot??!!! but then i'll stress over which baby to list where and worry that maybe if i listed a baby on ebay(AU) that doesn't sell well i might have gotten more on ebay.com or vise-versa ... i'm a stresser, always second guessing and "what if'ing"

Thats definatly a fair comment. I myself am finding it hard on the come back. I have to re-build my reputation again for being away from reborning so long... So it is something to consider.

I also have children as well, and I dont get alot of time to sit with the dolls. I cannot sit with a doll unless I know Im going to have un-disturbed peace where I can almost dedicate half a day with them. Because once I sit with them I get so involved, and it frustrates me to have to put them down, pickthem up, put them down again. It disturbs my attention span and well...it just doesnt work for me..lol

I would love to have full dolly days on a regular basis. But I think my home is just too caotic at times.. Always a house to clean, errands to run, kids to chase after, feed, bath, put to bed. And by then Im usually crawling into bed in a big heap..lol...

Ive been tempted to pack my bags and hire out a cottage for a weekend, just to do dolls..lol..
But that wouldnt work, cuz I gotta bring the caos with me..lol.. I can only dream..

I can understand where you are coming from Naomi. If you have alot more time on your hands, it would be obvious you could put more dolls out there. Maybe you should consider another avenue other then ebay. Try some local gift stores. I use to sell through a gift store some years ago. And it worked out really well.

Have you thought about dolls shows?

yes i'm a lady of leasure and all my time goes to my babies. Though i do wish i had some real babies of my own. I always thought by the time i was 25 i'd have had my 1st at least... but here i am!!!

Oh there is still plenty of time to make 'real' babies. I have 3 children. I had them all under the age of 4 when my last was born. They are now 9,6 and just recently 5.

I can understand those who have the need and wont for a baby in there lives. But if I could share one little bit of advice, it would be... Live your life to its fullest..do everything you possibly dreamed first. And when you have babies, have them out of nappies before you have the next..lol..
