Today i have been working on a very special little girl. A memorial look-a-like for the family of this little angel. I'm thrilled with how she's turned out, i'll be assembling her tomorrow but i was just so happy with the likeness that i couldn't wait to share her with you all

I've finished baby Caitlyn and i'm extremely proud of her likness. I used the knoops Jette kit to birth her from - new pics below

its always emotional and a very huge honour to be requested to do a memorial baby. The family of this little angel are expecting the arrival of a son in a few short weeks, its a bitter-sweet time for them as they have re-painted Caithlyns nursery to that of a boys theme - the letting go and saying goodbye to yet another thing (the room) that kept them connected to their little girl. Now they'll always have Caithlyn there with them.

You did such a great job! I would think that memorial babies would be especially hard because you want to get them just right. I think she is perfect!

I've edited the first post and added new pic's - she's finished and i'm so very pleased with her its such a special gift to be able to use my artistic abilities to cherrish the memory of a little princess lost too soon

her mummy is thrilled with the photo's i've sent. I'll be packing her up tomorrow and sending her on her way. It would have been Caitlyns 2nd b'day on sept 9th, she should get her just a couple of days before.

Congratulations on her completion. She is gorgeous. You have done a wonderful job capturing the likeness.

The sculpt in my avatar was a European doll sculpted by Antonio Juan. I cannot remeber the name of the doll. As I brought him about 3 yrs ago. Which I must add, I did experience alot of problems with painting him. When he first arrived he was caked in this oily like vinyl residue, which took alot to remove. And the vinyl texture wasnt consistant (Some places alot smoother then others). He did prove challenging to reborn, but in his defense the doll wasnt created to be reborned. Thanks for the compliment on him:)

She is beautiful, Naomi! I have that same sculpt. She will be my 2nd darker skinned baby. My first will be Sparrow. I won't start them until October when I'm off.

thank you all so much i just really pray that she will help with their healing and not re-open the rawness of their loss. I always feel a little nervous about sending memorial babies in a box as its so much like a coffin but their is no other way to send her.
