Hi everyone! I'm new here (but def. not new to Secrist!!) and thought I'd share with you all my latest bubba. Please meet Madison! I sculpted her for our annual doll competition and am proud to say I got first in her category (it is a point system) She was sculpted from prosculpt and measures in around 8 inches. She has a soft torso with full attached limbs, and baked in curly mohair. Enjoy.. x Mina

Hi Mina, Welcome to the forum~ Your sculpted baby Madison is absolutely beautiful! You did an amazing job. I wish I could sculpt like that. Thanks for sharing her with us!
Hello Mina, She is so georgious, nomally a Rosette and a medalion mean she was best of section not 1 st place. knowing a little bit about the judging system in Australia. Keep going ,I dont tink anyone is doing much in the way of tiny sculps in Oz much these days, we all seem to be getting on in years.JuneM from Oz
Hi all. Firstly, phew! I'm blown away by everyone's beautiful comments and warm wishes (and welcome ,lol!) Thanks so much you are all so kind!
To answer some questions, I find the small babies really easy to sculpt, that's why I do them more. The baby in my avatar is only 4 inches long. I think occasionally about doing a kit, but wouldn't know where to start, and it sounds really expensive..not that I'd rule it out. It's something I will look at definately.
And June yes, you are right. I didn't wanna brag, I thought it was bad enough saying she got first lol. She was the only baby sculpt there, but she got 98/100, which receives the gold star on the 1st place ribbon. I lost two points cos her ears were a little low. You Live and learn :)
And Mo, give it a go! Get some clay and play around. That's how I started..
Mina, How did you learn to sculpt like that? I've always been interested in sculpting, but have never figured out how you guys do it...they seem so flawless. I've always wondered what kind of tricks you sculpters have up your sleeves to create such amazing babies.
oh soo cute! Maybe Secrist could take you on as one of their sculpters? Do they do this? I would think that they need to add new artists all the time to come up with new designs for people to reborn. I like the full size babies but the mini's are cute too.
Congrats on her, such talent, you should feel very proud!
I am in awe! So beautiful and perfect! I would come out with some kinda alien from Mars thing if I tried to sculpt...LOL. You are a wonderful talented lady. Show us more of your great sculpting, as you do them, please. I enjoyed looking at her.
WOW is all I can say!!! Such a detailed tiny baby. I usually don't like pouting babies, but she's adorable. I just love tiny babies. You're amazing!!

Thankyou everyone, I just can't say it enough, you're all so kind!
notalent111 (felt awful writing that lol, I'm sure you have PLENTY of talent) I learned to sculpt mainly from practice. Although there are some great tutorials out there, it all comes down to patience, and practice (although I still have a way to go...) Grab some clay, and PLAY!!
Nightingale, it's funny you say that, my babies always start off looking like weird aliens. If I remember I'll have to post a pic of one on prgree so you can see.
Libra, I'd be THRILLED if they did ;)
Jean, I am flattered. I have thought about kits but wouldn't know where to start. Might be easy just sculpting a kit for someone else I think. I'm a chicken lol
Thanks again everyone. I will definately post more pics of my babies when I get time.
