I want to do a 19" doll with full limbs, and I am thinking about putting a breahter in the doll and what not, but I'm a bit nervous about doing this, since all I have done are the preemies with the 1/4" limbs...So any suggestions on how you get the full limbs to sit up and not fall over while baking them, or does it not really matter?  Thanks in advance!

Hi Jennifer, some people just lay their full-size limbs down on a towel/liner on tray and bake but when i did this i got bare spots where the limbs sweated and then paint came off, so hubby built me a board with dowels sticking upright out of it and i paint my long limbs and then have them standing upright on the dowels... :o) its about what works for u :o) ~Kaz~

just a little tip if you lay the limbs down and turn them over at half time (4mins) and bake for a futher 4mins you dont get the sweat smudge ((hugs)))

yeh well i did turn my limbs but they still sweated could it be the hand towel i was using ??? anyways i use the board as i use a heat set gun... oh i am in heaven, it works a treat for me !!! seems quicker than in and out the oven all the time and i do prefer it lolol :o) You do what works huh !!!

Tassie, I think the dowel board idea is a good one I did this for my pocelain dolls befor they were fired then put them on highfire wire in the kiln so not to have any marks on the wet paint. So with the oven the dowels would be realy handy. But what TEA said , what ever works for you.weirdfaceJune M from Oz
