Can you bake after eyes are in?

I have put my doll eyes in and glued them with E 6000 and then noticed I hadn't painted the eyebrows. Can I paint them and still bake the head?

I was told by the teacher I had that you could so I left the ones in the head of the Berenguar doll and they melted, I,m not sure if Secrists eyes are of the same Material.weirdfaceJune M from Oz.

Forgot to say they are secrist eyes, and I believe they can be baked but I was worried about the glue. Thanks for helping and so fast, too!

if you've glazed the front of the eye or used baby tears etc then no you shouldn't bake it again as the varnishes will bubble in the heat. However most eyes can be cooked, secrist can as can glass eyes, masterpiece etc.

June your right about the berrenguer eyes that come in the doll, they're just plastic and they will melt. Most eyes you specially buy for reborning can be cooked and many of them say so on the suppliers site - they usually tell you what temp the eyes can be heated to and this usually vastly exceeds the temp we use for the paints.

if you don't have any glue in the front of the eye area you'll be safe to cook again... if you have any glue that has covered the eye front or any varnishes or glazes your best to avoide heating it any. this includes your lips

I don't like to bake the E6000 as I don't know what it will do to the inside of the head! It's a type of silicone glue and it's bad to bake silicone (fumes you know). But the Secrist eyes are wonderful to bake (hehehe that sounds funny). They are ok up to 275F for not more than 10 to maybe 15 minutes (if you don't touch them).

Secrist eyes are not the same as any other eyes. They are the highest optical grade acrylic on the market (and made at the factory in Michigan by Mr Secrist). They are the same thing as prescription glasses are made of so that gives them a superior look and quality over plastic eyes (and other acrylic ones).

Thats good to know Pat B, as I have gone to only using glass eyes because the life like eyes we used to buy changed colour to purple or lime green, I,ve even had to change some of the expensive dolls eyes for doll shops in the past for that reason.weirdfaceJune M from OZ

You have to find out from the manufacturer if the eyes are heat-resistant. I've only baked Secrist eyes as that is mostly what I've used. Guppy had to be baked with eyes in because they were pre-inserted. Missy had to go back in after she was rooted because she got a bad case of the shines! Other than that I've not baked any eyes. But then again, most of my babies are sleeping. ;)

I have 17 pairs of eyes that turned red just sitting waiting to be used!  In a closet that is dry and dark, I can not use these. Has this happened to anyone else? Did/will the company exchange?   I can not afford to have this happen especially this amount. I would change but don't know to what and where? Please assist..
