Leah i can't believe your starting her so low, i couldn't bare to risk letting such a lovely little one go so low. i'm be chewing my nails off the whole time with anxiety of the "what if". However she is quite the little darling and i'd think she should go well at auction -- still your much braiver than i with the low start price.

I start all my preemies at 99.00 and my older bubs start at 150.00 im not in this for money although must admit it helps but i find with lower starts if there is somone who really cant afford a bub but desperately wants one they can have at least if anything a chance, i start my hard to find sculpts etc at 250.00 there the ones i make money on apart from my luca she shocked me a bit hehe my customers know me for this so i havent changed it in anyway, this is also a brand new sculptor and sculpt so it will be good to see how she goes ((hugs)))

i use to start mine at $99

then i slowly upped it till i was at $250 and stayed there for sometime. I did start one recently at $300 but i think $250 is probably where i'll drop back to.

Sculpts that i don't pay much for i'd start lower, but most mine --- untill doing some secrist recently, have been the $89+ range.

but its the amount of work that i know you put into little Faith that makes me *gasp* and say ekkk... i simply think your work is worth more than that... i'm sure the auction will go well though as i'm sure others can tell your work is worth far more than the opening price also.

TEA, Leah, I too think you have started her too low, we may not make much money for our time and effort but after going to doll shows and seeing some sell on ebay, us older doll people see a lot of what is called the 3 P,s they will Pick it up, tell you its lovely, Put it down and to be polite P off. If you have some thing to sell ,you put a price on it low enough that you would be happy with, because they are out there waiting till the last minute to get it at the cheapest possible price. What you have to do is add the cost of the kit, clothing mohair eyes, body& joints and judge what you would pay for such a lovely hand painted baby that will end up as a heirloom one day. Inever sell my dolls(Porcelain) for a Give away price. I,d rather take them home. weirdface

well she cost me that to make ive covered my outlay just with the 99.00 honestly starting low isnt a bad thing(for me) my average winning price in auction is from 220.00 to 790.00 for a doll, being such a new sculpt and by a new sculptor may make a difference she may go lower or she may go higher, i also think it has alot to do with being known TEA is quite well known now in aussie mainly for little preemies, memorial babies and low starting auctions theres an old saying if it aint broke dont fix it hehehe (((hugs)))

I think she is wonderful. I love that you start them low so there is a chance that someone who really wants a reborn doll but can't afford $250+ has a chance to own a really nice one.

Yes, it's hard to know what you should start your auctions at. The first baby I made I sold for $70, but now I usually start at $150. And some get more while others don't sell at all. But TEA, I agree that your baby is cute and worth much more! But you will probably get more if you have built up a reputation.

its little faith's last few hours of auction please keep your fingers crossed and wish her well in finding the best mummy in the world! I soooooooo cant put her in a box yet ive tried three times today and she still sleeping in my arms lol

yes i'm waiting to hear/see what she closes at... i'm thrilled for you that you've gotten the bids that you have... i was so nervous when you listed her at $99 start but it seems to have worked for you... i'm just to much of a stress head to take that kind of risk!!

thanks Naomi ((hugs))) i dont expect much more for her she is a tiny little thing as i said earlier i average around 220 for the little ones and that is a good price to me anything over that is a real bonus not just for me but for my donation baby account :)

what she already knows she's not going to be going though with payment??? how sad :( well its lucky you get to hold on to her a little longer, but i do find it somewhat rude when ppl bid and then change their minds or they bid beyond their budget.

not only does it cost you more with re-listing but its not fair to the others who placed bids saw it move beyond their budget and then possible moved on and bid on a different baby that wasn't their first choice - i had that happen once, when i approched the second highest bidder a week after no payment from the winning bidder she was so upset coz she really wanted my bub but had put a bid on someone else by then which she liked but just wasn't quite where her heart had settled.

i hope this mess up has all been planed by fate and faiths real forever mum was having computer truble and something so just didn't get to see her with this first time round at being listed, but she's out there just waiting to lay eyes on this little miricle.

Thanks hun my NPB was a 0 feedback that kindly de registered after auction so I offered her to the second highest bidder which was 250 but didnt hear anything, at a guess she would be bidding on the other oliver sculpt that was listed recently, I honestly believe every thing happens for a reason :) I held little faith today and rocked her for a while i took her into town with me to visit my doctor he knows im a reborn artist but has never seen one so i took her to show him my art, she did the rounds at reception and the nurses had a ball lol so all in all we had a great day!. there is a new scam happening at the moment with 0 feedbacks joining a couple weeks and then making a last bid on auctions to win then they de register I have talked to ebay about this today and have found a way to stop them so if you would like to know just send me a PM or email id be happy to tell you. ((hugs)))

Anyway about taking Faith into the dr's with you... my mother did the same about a week ago, she took 2 of mine in to show them off to her Dr. Its a guy, but apparently he asked to hold one and all... apparently he's ready to have babies but he's wife isn't so much. He's in his mid 30's i think.

She had told him about how she's been busy doing sewing and stuff for my babies and tried to describe them, but decided to take a boy and girl along to show him this time. He's very into the arts and stuff so yeah.

apparently reception and the few others in the waiting room wanted hugs and stuff too.

mine is a male too hes african he had a hold and told me because i cant work why not teach my art to others and make an income of sorts I tried to explain that this place is a small town and there probably wouldnt be much interest but he is going to bug me now each visit he said he would put the word out to his patients lol hes so cute I do love taking my babys out im a very proud midwife hehehe
