my 5year old enjoys painting dolls when i paint she paints too she has little berengure bubs that she uses, my 11year old is more of a serious painter and is now asking for sculpts to paint I think any age is a good time to learn an art i encourage my girls as much as possible especialy reborning its so much fun to share this with them i think you should give your neice a go she may well become the youngest reborn artist ever! (((hugs)))

You have to have a lot of patience to teach children this type of art, you have to put yours aside and devote time to them, on a one on one basis. In my classes it was quite difficult to teach a twelve year old, when others need your time as well . So set aside a day especilly for them. weirdface

I think it is a wonderful thing to do together. Maybe have one each - exactly the same, and you show her what to do first... then she can do it on her doll, with your help... so you are going back and forth...

there are some secrist dolls on nikkidolls for sale at the moment..

That would probably work, doing the same doll together, as long as she has a good concentration span. weirdface

I am not sure if she cn concentrate that long. And I definitely won't let her root the hair--I'm 31 and I sometimes stick myself with those darn needles. I'd hate to have my neice do that! I guess I will just see how our week goes. I may not be able to keep her out of the pool long enough to anything inside anyway.

It must be warm where you are, for the last three days it,s been freezing here, I used to love the water but it has to be in the middle of summer before I put my feet in now. As for sticking yourself, I know what you mean. I tried painting with my 8 yr old granddaughter, it turned out a mess, but how can you tell them they have to take it off and try again, I just said it was lovley and because it was porcelain, I said I,d fire it later. Later hasn,t come. But she can see it later on and we can wash it off and paint it again. weirdface

I'm in the USA. It's summer here and it's 78 degrees inside my apartment (even at 5 am). I don't have AC. Baby girl loves to swim all summer, so we'll probably spend every afternoon at the pool.

Heather, your only half my age, so you wouldn,t feel the cold so much. I,m sitting at the computer with my IVF 2 3/4 yr old granddaughter sitting on the back of my chair with her knees in my back. Actually my youngest daughter is only 3 mths older than you. Happy reborning. weirdface
