I was checking out the reborn babies on ebay today and there is one going for $2500.00! Wow. He is a cutie. I added the link if you want to take a look. I hope that's okay. Have a great day ladies!
$650 is very good. I would be thrilled with that. I have heard some people get their friends to bid on their dolls to get the price up, so maybe this was one of those cases. I'd cancel bids if I found out they were just my family trying to make me look good.
it says it went for $690 - still thats a pretty impressive sale. Though i do wonder what was going on with the bidding that it was so high when you looked and now dropped so much!!
it is a cute baby and she has done great work on him

Sometimes i think ebay can be very dishonest -- i susspect many ppl have friends and such place fake bids on their items. Esp when they have it listed so that its private and you can't look and who the bidder action is coming from.
Howelse does one explain thoes that have bids right away and up to high values the moment they are listed... yet you see others who's baby that looks even more professional and done amazingly yet sell for a low price or have very little interest. I mean i do think some ppl, and i hope that most ppl remain honest and its simply their good work that has erned them a good name. But one does have to question when the baby's quality is not quite there yet the bids are going off the radar.
it one of the main reasons i never make my auctions so bidders can remain anonomous to each other. I want ppl to be able to check and see that i'm being completely honest and transparent in my business dealings.

I have mine private just for respect of the collectors alot wont bid if they cannot remain annonymus, ive seen lots shell bidding in the past and im totaly against it, but i must admit somtimes i can put a baby on and i get bids straight away i hope ppl dont looka t that and think it is freinds etc honesty is the best policy in my books (((hugs0)))

I just looked at that auction the reason it went up so high is somone made a bid of 21,100 by mistake then they withdrew the bid it can be found in the bidding history ((hugs))

I usually make mine private too. It does offer some bidders protection from other bidders. Ebay used to show the whole id of bidders and sometimes they would send each other nasty messages if they were bidding against each other. I don't think it was typical, but still not something I want my bidders to have to deal with.
Leah, I don't think anyone would accuse you of dishonesty--esp. with your low starting bids! I suspect that most people are honest, but there are some babies that seem to go for far beyond the normal price range for dolls of similar quality. Maybe they are just lucky.
I have to say though that there are some impressive babies on Ebay. I love looking at Tinkerbelle Nursery's babies. That Hellen Jalland is absolutely amazing!
As someone who hopes to buy a doll from some of the girls here one day *whistles*... if it were on ebay I'd prefer a private auction as I don't want people out there seeing the collector items I am going for... I don't care if people know I am buying fabric offcuts... but I am a bit funny about big stuff...
