I think he,s wonderful for your first baby as I said , my first 2 were crapy but they were done with AS oil paint. All babies aren,t always to blushed, some are pale and look just as lovely.June M from Oz.
thank you tiana and naomi.... His sculpt is a sebastiano by fiorenza biancheri (i think i have spelt that name right) is there anything i could improve on do you think ??? do you think i need to add more hair to my next baby ?? i think he needed a bit more dimensional colour to his limbs ??? thanks guys :o)

from what i can see his limbs may need some more dimension to them... his veining is maybe a little too thick in its width, maybe try a finer brush.
his face looks perfect though, and i think you've captured that newborn "peach fuzz" with his hair. many baby's have only a small amount like this.
over all though i do think you've done a fabulous job... the things i've picked out now are after looking long and hard only so that i could answer your question on what you might improve.
i've not done the sebastiano sculpt myself but have seen him on some supplies sites and like the look of him. you really have created a real little man there. i trully can't believe he's your first.
:o) ty all sooo much for all your compliments !!!!,really, it means alot to me & i appreciate your honest comments ... it helps me to know what to work on for my next kit :o) my 2nd one was a linde scherer 'alina' kit i have just sent her to a friend to reborn for me, it didnt matter what i did it kept having small blank spots where the paint wouldnt bond to the vinyl, i tried and tried but could not fix her... but i am not going to give up on reborning (thanks to your advice to me Naomi - 'not throwing the towel in') i know i can do it !!! i was pleased with my first one so i know i can improve my skills, so hopefully it will be third kit lucky !!!

You've done amazing, honestly... i'm not just saying that.
I did a linde scherer "silja" once... he come out well in the end but i remember being really frustrated with him many times while working on him, i can't remember what the problems were i had with him, but i do remember chucking a few tantrums for some reason.
He did end up beautiful though and was adopted to the UK.
For your first doll I think this is very good. I would leave the head alone as it looks the best part of the baby. And the sparse hair is good what I can see of it. It would help if you had a few pics of other areas (hair, face, hands, etc) so we can see it closer.
I agree, I would do the veining in very thin wavy lines and break them up so it doesn't look like one continous line from here to there. Veins have a habit of hiding and popping up in spots.
Maybe a little, just a little more blushing on the knees, tops of feet and hands (IMHO).
Thanks everyone, its probably not the best shot of him... i found it hard to show the mottling he does have in a photo... i know i need to learn photography a bit better :o) and i suprised myself with the hair rooting i only broke 1 Needle !!! i was very happy as i know beginners can break alot of needles... and yes i love the sparse look i used a 38g needle, is this the normal ??? i had no idea what size to buy ??? , i have bought some reborns with "mop" style hair, while it suits some sculpts, some it does not !!! thanks guys, **Hugz**

You did a good job. To give a good critique I'd have to see more close ups of him. I do think he is cute. Most people over blush in the beginning so you are wise to stop yourself! ;)
