actually she reminds me alot of Nel de Mans sculpts. I've done a few of hers more recently and little Lollipop here shares something that makes me think of Nel's "Marco" and "Christina" -- both sculpts/babies that sold very well for me.

What do you think? there is some likness don't you reckon? Of course you need to consider that they are both done by me, and dressed in almost the same outfit. Christina is an 18" baby and wearing a preemie sized baby-club Petites, while Lollipop is a 17" wearing the micro-preemie sized baby-club Petites.
ok so they're not identical or anything, but to me thay seem familiar to each other. Then when you consider that Secrist Lollipop is about 1/3 the cost of Christina - well if your after a lovely sculpt that wont hurt the budget too much, Lollipop is a perfect little girl for your next project.
They are similar that's for sure. I had to take a closer look to see which was which. Naomi, just another beautiful job. I wasn't sure about doing a Lollipop but now she's definitely on my need to have list. I wish you'd do a Phoebe some day. I'm working on her right now but I'd love to see her done by you.
Elly Knoops do sell particularly well, I've done 4 hannah's and 3 luca's i think... one of each for my mother.
It's carzy how popular Luca remains... i just don't like doing the same sculpt over and over. I see the same ppl contually doign luca and contiunally selling her at really top prices... but i like the challenge and doing new babies, i wonder how they can't get sick of working the smae sculpt over and over.
Amy does look sweet, i will probably do her at some stage. I've also done a knoops Melly, who i adored - she has that little wobbly bottom lip and looks liek she's thinking of crying. And i also did her Lennie as a look-a-like of Shiloh Jolie-Pit.
To me luca makes a nice doll -- a very pretty and nice doll... but she doesn't exactly scream "baby" to me. And so it does puzzle me that she seems to remain the most successful selling sculpt over the years. I'd personally favour Knoops "Melly" over all of her's. Its intregues me the trend of Luca.
Ah well i'm working on my last secrist kit that i have in stock right now. Its Sparrow, but i think i will order all the remaining secrist kits i've not yet done after the show - so don't worry Cathy I'll get to Peobe at some stage.
I haven't posted pics of my Missy yet as i'm still waiting on my mum to finish her pants - she has the cutest little kintted outfit.
I really loved working with luca it was a challenge to get her to look more baby if that make sense im TEA cause i like newborn and preemies so she was definetly a good challenge for me to do, here are some piccies of her i got very attached in the end and it was really hard to let her go hehehe

Leah -- i'm beyond IMPRESSED - that is the most *baby* like luca i've ever seen!!!! like OMG!!! ok you've made me re-think her potential as a really baby outcome rather than the pretty/almost glamorous look you usually see with her.
I've a luca here that i'm not happy with for the show, i'm going to pull her head off and re-work her some more... i'm in awe!!!
awww bless you both thankyou so much ((hugs)) Naomi the trick is the hair the blushing and the limbs hun, she has avery limbs they are a perfect match for a bubby not to small and just right in the way they are sculpted, her blushing is ever so suttel( i know i didnt spell that right) but i got the idea looking at a real life 3 month old just a tad of pinkyrose colour and her hair thats weaving dixie medium brown 3rd shearing micro rooted i just love this mohair it falls into place every time hope this helps if not im here to help!

the Luca i have was far too dark with her complextion, i've just gone over her now with another flesh 08 to lighten her back up, and i've scalped her - the hair i used was meant to be golden brown - but it looked more orange with a slight green to it.
So i pulled all i could out - which was a little difficult as the glue inside was all set, i heated the head first and that helped some. There were still a few wispy hairs left so i ran a razor over it.
I'm going to use the same hair that i've used on my Zoe boy. But i am going to have to seek out weaving dixie's. She answered my email but to buy straight from her website seems it could work out morw expensive than on ebay auction - depending on how many ppl are bidding at the time.
anyway - you did a beautiful job on her Leah, and seriously i'm still in awe of her. So many ppl seem to give their luca's so much hair that it ends up looking like a 17yr old going to her high school ball. I mean it looks stunning, but no real baby looks like that!!!
actually my own luca's have that look to them too this is one i did a while ago...
TEA,Your Luca is lovely too, after I did Hannah as Jack, I ordered her but she was sold out, I see today she,s back in stock, and a little cheaper than when I first ordered her. I think the few suppliers here think they,ll get rich quick, but have to come down in price after awhile to be able to keep their customers.June M from Oz.
i like your dark haired luca she looks lovely hun and yep most do go for that look, just a hint with your luca your redoing i know youve done the flesh 08 that will definetly bring her to a softer complexion but i learnt somthing through a mistake once and i still use it hehe if you have raw sienna mix it to a very THIN consistency and do an overal coat you will be amazed at the way it belnds all your layers into a beautiful skin tone it brings your veining and your blush out a little more but blends, hard to explain but i hope you try it ((((hugs))))

Yep your right june just after luca started taking off on ebay all the prices skyrocketed they are still too high in my opinion, I got my luca head on a special and i already had avery limbs so it was rather cheap for me to make her i would like to give elly's new sculpt a go but ill wait till the prices drop hehehe

DD is actually the cheapest for the Luca and Hannah - like only $40'ish, but thats a US supplier. I never buy my kits in Aust anymore.
thanks for the tip Leah -- actually i've just stripped her right back to the base vinyl... awful job that i try to avoid but i think if she's worth fising she's worth doing properly
YOU are so cleaver, Smarty Pants and so fast. Thats what I was like when I make porcelain dolls. I can clean fire paint about ten in a week and then put them togeher in between sewing their cloths. But that was about three years ago since I did all that. Sam used to help me clean and be my critic.

Wow Naomi...you're absolutely right! They do look like they could be sisters for sure! And, of course, both are beautiful!
