I use homestead and love it! You don't need to know HTML and it's fairly inexpensive for a basic site, 4.99 a month I think. You can do it yourself or they will do it for you for an additional fee but really it is pretty simple. You just choose your background and the rest is all drag and drop. You can add pictures really easy, text, etc. It is www.homestead.com Here is mine: www.tinastots-dolls.com Oh the other thing is that they register and pay for your domain name so you never have to worry about that.

homestead sounds like a really good deal then. i didn't realise that they did hosting packages so didn't even look at them -- i remember back a good 8 or so years ago (i know i was still at school so 8 to 10 yrs back) i played around with a free website on homestead and i remember their template stuff being easy to use back then... i'm sure they have improved in the interveening years also.
So i'll deffinetly go have a look-see at what they offer and see if i can pull a site together.
You can go to freewebs.com and make your own site for free. It is very easy to use. You can also add photos there from your computer or photobucket. I think you can also pay to have them do it but I don't know the cost. Good luck!
thanks robie - the thing about free websites is you can't have your own custom domain name and this makes the domain longer to remember and not as searchable. Also your limited to the look&feel of the site with their generic templates and logo's. I've looked at freewebs and some other free site hosting and none of them allow for a custom or purpose built look. And i already have in my minds eye exactly how i want my page to look.
