hehee, my mother sew's all my bodies for me except for the few sculpts that come already with a body. Anyway, my dad's been off work now about a month with a serious back injury - he's a guy who never gets sick and worked 10-12 hr days since i can remember... he's getting a little board to say the least being at home all day long but not able to really do anything given the state of his back (possible surgery is needed).
I just went into the front part of the house to my mothers sewing room and there she is sitting at the sewing machine and my dad at the table cutting out body patterns!!! So cute... *giggles* my dad builds the big mining machinary like CAT etc. To see him doing something arty/crafty is beyond cute!!
Yeh, I know what you mean. My husband was a Bobcat, Excavator and Tip Truck opperator, we had own business, when I started my hobby of doll making ,later on he got into doing all the pouring, and helped me do the cleaning, but now ,he too has a serious back problem, and is on a waiting list for surgery. No 2-7 discs are pressing on his spinal cord and nerve, he,s been in agony for 18mths. So sad, he was as fit as a 40yr old.
my dad's problems are in the lumber spine - he has 2 herniated disks, 15% loss of height in one vertibrea and pressure pushing on root nerves. They tried injecting with steroids which has improved it all somewhat, he coudln't even lift his feet up off the floor when trying to take steps - he's able to shuffle around now since the injections but its going to take surgery by the looks of things to improve it any further. He has private health cover but even so cant get in to see the specialist till september unless there is a cancellation. Its rediculous that even with top private cover their is still a wait list.
oh well maybe mum will make a seamstress of him yet LOL
My Husband has to shuffle around also, he fell from the back of the tipper unloading timber, a piece fell on him and he had 2 fractured hips and pelvises, all he could do was lay in bed on his back for over 16 wks, he needs a hip replacement as well but has to wait untill the spine is done.June M
My dad broke his back - the same area now causing problems, 4yrs ago in a car accident. It healed well but he spent some time in hospital and in a back brace for three months but no surgery was needed. Still this is probably the biggest contributing factor to the current problems.
Still it was very cute seeing him in the sewing room - he cut out 5 bodies and was oh so very proud of himself!!!
