Paradise Gallery dolls for sale or trade
Permalink

I have 3-4 Paradise Gallery dolls I would like to sell or trade. I'm only asking for what I have purchased them for as price. Let me know if you might be interested and I can post more on which ones they are. And I can post links too so you can see what they look like. Still new in box w/original shipping, all accessories and papers!

They are in storage at the moment as I don't have room in my home (one whole closet is nothing but doll kit parts!). Don't worry, this is climate control storage and I pay through the nose each month for it! Very secure, no bugs or rodents, not so much as a spider gets in there!!

I am cleaning out some of the dolls and kits I don't have time to reborn/newborn so my loss is your gain. And I do LOVE to trade (have done so many times!).

Did they go out of business? They still have a web site but every category is empty when you click on it.

Heather, I'll get back to you one which ones I have.
Tina, it would serve them right if they did go out of biz! But I don't know if that happened or not. Maybe just a glitch in the website.

Hi,
I have to say I have been a silent memeber of the forum. I use to participate on the last one before the change up of the site.
I love all of the advice and different personalities.  I really haven't had any questions that have not been answered by the site, and every time I think I have something to contribute, I am happy to say that someone here has posted the knowledge that I have and even better.
This is one time that I can help.
After many years, Paradise Galleries has gone out of business.  I got a going out of business letter and email from them. The last time they were taking orders was around June 3rd or 6th.  So the only dolls from them are the few floating around from collectors, and ebay.  I know of another company that has their line empty soon after the news got sent out to customers of the closing.

Bummer! I kind of liked the Anna Carter babies and Maggie Molloy too. But their vinyl is so smooth that it can be difficult to reborn.

WOW! I wish I had gotten a GOB letter or e-mail! I have been a customer of theirs for years. Of course they probably don't like me any more since I sent them several scathing letters telling them how dissatisfied with them I was. They didn't send the dolls I ordered when they were supposed to, then over charged me for the shipping, then had the nerve (twice) to double charge me for the orders and turn me over to a collection agency for non payment! I would order 2-5 dolls at a time, so I was a good customer.
I guess it's true... what goes around comes around!

I wished them no ill, I just wanted them to be better organized! Of course some of the doll sculptors who's dolls they copied were not happy at all about that. Good thing they never copied any Geddes! She got after people for even putting her name in ebay auctions if they reborned any of her babies. Can you imagine what she would have done if PG copied one of her babies?!

I never ordered much from PG because the dolls always looked so much different when I got them home than when they were in the catalog. So I got to where I would only order clearance items with clothes I thought were cute that I could reuse on another doll. That way I didn't feel to bad if the doll was awful. I never had a problem with their shipping and billing but I heard others that did also. You have to value your customers and treat them with respect or they will move on to someone else.

Dolly,

I had that problem with their dolls not looking like the picture either, so I usually looked on Ebay to see pictures of what they looked like before I ordered them. I do that with the Ashton Drake babies too- although I must say that sometimes the Ashton Drake babies are cuter than their pictures. I got a Goodnight Kiss for Jack and his face is even sweeter than the pics. His hands are huge though!

And I always thought it was just me.
I think the reason they were so attentive to me in the end is because I had ordered many at a time and did not blink to pay, despite the shipping.  In the end they had two dolls back ordered for over half a year and I was patient.  I also felt that if they were going to conduct business like that, it was only a matter of time until they loose customers and close, so said...  In the end I got a letter saying the dolls were sold out, after a half a year and that I could get how much percentage off of their closeout dolls, but when you do the math and add the shipping it was never worth it.  They hounded me until they closed with emails and letters, but the way I see it, if you could not deliver on past orders who is to say that a new order will fix prior problems.  I did not reorder down to closing.

Usually their doll pics were pics of the actual prototype (theirs or the original sculptors) which can very greatly from what you actually get (especially when you send them to China).

I am trying to look for the bills that came with my dolls to see which ones I have (darned paperwork! lol). For sure I have 19" Katherine by Kimberly Durden.

And I also have Little Pink Piggy.

I'll keep searching here so I don't have to go out to the storage locker and look (its 20 miles one way). I'll let you know the rest in a while, sorry!

Pat,

I thought I had a ton of doll kits, but I don't have a storage locker! Wow! Let me know if you have "A Panda Bear's Home." I want to try making an Asian baby, but it's hard to find anything but white dolls where I live. I think South Dakota may be the least racially diverse state in the USA.

Well, most people I know don't either! lol
It houses 2 businesses, sewing stuff, stuff from my childhood that was all I had that didn't either get ruined or thrown away by someone, plus all my goods for my shows (and the extra dolls). Also stuff that belongs to my kids.

I don't have "A Panda Bears Home" cause if I did it would be in my youngest's collection. Her name is Amanda and I've been collecting Panda's for her since she was 6 mos old!

I am working on (sculpting) a Korean face now and I've got it almost finished! The eyes are perfect! I'll have to perfect the rest. No smashing sculpted babies now though! lol hehehehe
